OPERATIONAL DEFINITION
Perfect Order Fulfillment is a discrete measurement defined as the percentage of orders 1) delivered "on time and in full" to request date AND/OR to commit date; 2) that meet the customer's 3 way match (invoice, PO, and receipt); and 3) have no product quality issues.  Perfect Order Fulfillment is also frequently used to measure Supplier Delivery Performance and Manufacturing Schedule Attainment.  Substitute Purchase Order or Manufacturing Order for Customer Order respectively.

DEFECT ANALYSIS
For the purposes of six sigma type analysis, an analytical unit is an individual customer order.  A defective unit is a customer order that violates one of the three aspects of perfection listed in the definition above. The number of defect opportunities is the total number of customer orders in the sampling period.
